Daily food in Indonesia

Daily Food in Indonesia

According to "feeding Indonesia" http://www.insideindonesia.org/weekly-articles/feeding-indonesiaIndonesia is a country with a rapidly expanding middle class and a growing economy. Yet for many Indonesians, the daily task of feeding their families can be a real challenge. Even with government subsidies, Indonesia has the most expensive rice in the region. The government's commitment to reducing heavy fuel subsidies is expected to impact the price and accessibility of rice and other basic foodstuffs. Poor families are the most vulnerable in this situation.''

Farmer in Indonesia

Field in Indonesia

Talking about rice and daily food in Indonesia, some opening sentences already tell us about it. In 1987, Indonesia has so many surplus in rice and other daily foods like  soybean. We export them to many countries in the world. Unfortunately, now we import rice from another country because our rice is not many enough to serve for all Indonesian society. Rice is expensive, and we as agrarian country not being good enough called as agrarian again. According to BPS, in august 2013, Indonesia already Imported 35.818 ton rice in price about US$19,132. Indonesia that has tropical climate with fertile land can not produce rice by itself.

As we see in this kind of suplemment advertisement that said our land is our heaven https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Z7Mh6rZkA .

Rice in Indonesia

Rice is daily food in Indonesia

We didn't appreciate our farmer as good as our employee. In 9 years, our farmer decreasing about 14 milion. Our Farmer live under average, most of them doesn't have modern tool to plant rice. They also can not prevent climate that sometimes not friendly with them. Many rich people eat import rice so our farmer have to compete with farmer from another country.

We can not make them survive by their selves, we as an Indonesian have to help them by eat our rice. We have to being simbiosis mutualism with them. If we want our society have welfare, we have to help each other and dismiss social inequality from Indonesia. I do believe we do not want eat bad rice in expensive price or good rice in more expensive price, so that's why based on post that I wrote in the second post, we have to increase our human resources so our farmer can work easier in our country.
Their smile is our smile :)

I do believe, we can do it

Demi kejayaan Indonesia

Summary: Political Man: The Social Bases of Politics, by Seymour Martin Lipset. London : Heinemann, 1960

Political Man by Seymour Martin Lipset (1960) majorly explain the requisites to sustain democracy. He argues that economic development (wealth, industrialization, urbanization, and education) facilitates democracy by influencing political culture and class structure. Learning from history, Lipset emphasized that a high level of education is necessary but not yet sufficient to sustain democracy. Better education will help people to broaden outlook, to be more tolerant, restrain them from extreme doctrines and increase their capacity to electoral choices which eventually lead them to construct a more democratic political culture. Moreover, he also emphasized that economic development will drive lower class to a larger middle-income class through an increased income, greater economic security and higher education. This is important because a big middle class is capable of rewarding moderate and democratic parties and penalizing extremist parties, whereas lower class society is prone t...
