Face AFTA 2015

AFTA  ( Asean Free Trade Area ) 2015

 I read an article about AFTA in http://ekonomi.kompasiana.com/bisnis/2014/03/01/afta-2015-ancaman-atau-tantangan--638571.html. It is interesting topic because without we realize, our war coming soon. War for increase our economy, survive from anything that come as  ASEAN country.

ASEAN Free Trade Area is an economy agreement in goods and services in all ASEAN countries. AFTA agreement officially signed when ASEAN had six members in the beginning 1992. They are Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Philipines and Thailand. Now, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia also include in  ASEAN country, but they will officially do AFTA in 2018. One goal of AFTA is improving the competitiveness of ASEAN product through the elimination of duties and non - tariff impediments in ASEAN. So, it means goods or services from other country will easier come to indonesia and we also easier to sell our product in ASEAN country. 

Indonesia has the fourth most populous country in the world. We have population about 249 million 0r (40%) of ASEAN population. 

Are we will be more consumptive or productive with that huge number of population ? 

Ready or not, we suppose try our best for AFTA. We have to positive thinking. We can not just stay and wait until it come but we have to think what is the best way to face it.


Patriotism  and nasionalism is two characters that the first we have to build in all Indonesian mind. We can not do anything if our people does not love our country. We should be proud for everything in Indonesia. We should learn what we have in our country. There is one Indonesian proverb "if you do not know about it, you will not love it" So, we have to tell our people how amazing our country is. After we love ours, we will try to keep it and develope it. Its the same case with Indonesian product. We should proud with our product. we have to help our new entrepreneurs to improve their skill. Although, that's true goods from other country usually are cheaper, but it doesn't mean everything in Indonesia is expensive. We have to change how the way we think ? We are developing, so we have to be unity if we want  to success togeteher. 

The second think we should do is increasing knowledge in all parts in our live. We learn too much theory in school. When I was studying in US, I realize how teacher taught us theory and practice. we don't just need theory in math, science or etc but we also need skill. A lot of people smart but there is not a lot of people have skill. We have to teach our new generation skill and mental entrepreneur. Most of people in Indonesia just want to be bureaucrat so they will get money from government. That is totally fine. But its impossible if all Indonesian will be bureaucrat. We need entrepreneur to balance our economy. Being competitive is the answer. AFTA not just about goods trade but also service trade that we have to prepare.

Work together is the important part of this. We can not work just by our selves or our group. But we have to work together. Government will not work very well if not supported by their people. Poor people can not be rich without helping from other people.I know we can do it, we have a lot of things that we haven't explore yet. We have a lot of fish, natural resources, rice, creative people, nice weather, amazing view etc. Just one we have not grow yet. Spirit together to bring Indonesia be a better country.  

So what DO we NEED now????? 
1. Patriotism
2. Knowledge in all aspects 
3. Work together 

I believe with our spirit, we can face AFTA confidently.

Campaign Final Reflection Thank you GNML for teaching us social media. After learning more about it, I realize we can help people in so many ways. I also know more about International problem in many countries.  I thought social media just for fun, but it is not.
